Even in the absence of pain or other symptoms, any change is reason to seek help. We were extremely fortunate that after all Mom had been through, her interactivity had returned. As she slogged through another round of pre-CT scan barium solution, I handed her a magazine; she took a quick look and threw it down on the table: “Housekeeping!” she proclaimed, “who wants to read a magazine about that!”

Hi Terry,
This is such good information to share. There is a definite link between pathogens and neural issues (the strep thing is true!). Tom’s dad worked with probiotics his whole career and understood the need for good gut bacteria to fight off a variety of illnesses. As gross as it sounds, fecal transplants have been successful in establishing those bacteria in people who lack them.
Your blog is such a resource and comfort to people who are facing, or are about to face, the challenges of Alzheimer’s and other dementia producing diseases. Thank you!
